RECTOR'S MESSAGE
What did we see? Why digitize the physical documents of the Recoletos Formation Center and the Recoletos School of Theology?
Yes, we saw the need to preserve and better organize the files of the seminary. We realize the value of making information about the formation house and center of theological studies more accessible to others. This is for the benefit of the whole, of the wider society. And something more! Digitizing our physical documents is expression of the essential element of our Augustinian monastic tradition, which “embraces the apostolate of the harmonious search for the truth and its fullest possible sharing in the service of the Church” (OAR Constitutions 27).
Self-effacing and generous were our millenial confreres and lay collaborators, headed by the Research Director of the Recoletos School of Theology, in completing this digitization. I thank God in these, our brothers and silent workers, as I pray with and for them and all the beneficiaries of the project.

History, Culture and Heritage-Recoletos
Since the entrance of the first thirteen Augustinian Recollect Missionaries to the Philippine Islands to the present time, the Order has not only contributed to the development of culture, advancement of history, and reinforcement of her legacy to the Philippine society but also continues, in the present time, to transform nations through education, evangelization and other mission works particularly in the peripheries.
This section of the web is two-pronged: it is like a window through which present generations may peep through and discover the contributions of the Augustinian Recollects in the shaping and building of the history and culture of the Philippine nation; and it is like a gate through which modern-day Augustinian Recollects recount endeavors and struggles in the works of new evangelization through arts, media, cultural heritage and the like as acts of participation in nation-building and engagements in the shaping of a national conscience.
