RST Lakbay-Aral returns after three years of a break due to COVID-19 Pandemic
MIRA NILA Homes, Quezon City – Recoletos School of Theology resumes its Lakbay Aral Event as they search for truth this Academic Year last April 11 – 12, 2023.
At the early dawn of 5:00 AM, the students gathered in the school to settle and departed from the vicinity. Their first destination was in Sto. Niño de Cebu Parish in Biñan, Laguna, where they celebrated the Holy Eucharist and took their breakfast. Fr. Mark Renacia, OAR, the President of the School, presided over the mass, and along with him are Fr. Ian Espartero, OAR, the Dean of Studies, Fr. Emil Quilatan, OAR, Professor of Church History, and Fr. Wilboy Bracamonte, OSA, the Parish Priest of the Church. Fr. Mark pointed out in his homily the importance of their Lakbay Aral, which is applying what they learned in the classrooms. All these dogmas and doctrines they have learned should be seen and reflected in them.
After eating breakfast in the said parish, they went on their city tour. First, they went to Sentrong Pangkultura ng Biñan and the Historic Alberto Mansion, where they listened and learned about the rich history of Biñan and explored the city’s rich culture. After their stay in Biñn, they departed immediately for Calamba, Laguna, where they will take up their lunch. They arrived at St. John the Baptist Church and took their lunch in the parish’s hall, offered by their parish priest. Afterward, they walk to Rizal Shrine, where the Philippine National Hero, Jose Rizal, was born. There, they could reminisce about the national hero’s simple and heroic life. It was a quick tour before they left for their venue to rest.
When they reached Villa San Ezekiel Moreno, the students immediately took a rest. After the vespers (evening prayer), they ate dinner and continued with their bonding and light moments. The next day, they started the morning with the Holy Mass. Fr. Ian Espartero, OAR, presided over the celebration. Their last day was concluded with the team building activity with some games that the brothers prepared before they finally left the place to go home to their respective communities.
