OAR raises to the Order of Priesthood Fray Plata, Fray Calalang on the Solemnity of holy father St. Augustine
“It is a grace and it is God who grants us this grace for He is the center of this ordination,” Rev. Fr. Robin Ross S. Plata, OAR expressed during the thanksgiving speech he delivered on the occasion of their Ordination to Priesthood last August 28, 2021 on behalf of his companion Rev. Fr. Virgilio C. Calalang, Jr., OAR at Our Lady of Consolation Parish.
His Excellency Bishop Oscar Jaime L. Florencio, DD, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines, officiated this year’s Presbyteral Ordination together with Fray Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, the Prior Provincial of St. Ezekiel Moreno Province, and other concelebrating priests.
The Ordaining Prelate, during his homily, reminded the ordinandi: “You will be configured to Christ by virtue of this ordination, by the laying on of hands. You will stand as Christ in the midst of his Flock. Christ the Good Shepherd.” He continued, “Henceforth, you will share the priesthood of Christ. I’d like to challenge you to be good shepherds to the flock that will be entrusted to you.”
Fray Calalang, OAR, from Balagtas, Bulacan will be assigned to San Pedro Academy–Recoletos, Cadiocan, Valencia, Negros Oriental and Fray Plata, OAR, from Candelaria, Quezon is assigned to St. Ezekiel Moreno Provincial Center, Quezon City.
