Rev. Fr. Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit together with professors, formators and students of the Recoletos School of Theology last Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City.

During the homily, Fr. Selma, the Prior Provincial of the OAR Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno, expressed his concern before the RST community about the theological questions the papal encyclical Amoris Laetitia raised. He remarked that the Holy Father Pope Francis needs to clarify his theological stance regarding the pressing issues like divorce and same-sex marriage.

In the same eight-o’clock morning Mass, the profession of faith by the faculty members before the whole congregation, the oath-taking of the officers of the RST Student Forum’s and congregation representatives were incorporated.

Amidst the heavy downpour, the community was ferried to the Bulwagang Recoletos Auditorium for the orientation seminars.  Rev. Fr. Radni Caparas, OAR, SThL, the new Dean of Studies, discussed academic guidelines of the institution and responded to the concerns and suggestions raised by students about the practices and facilities of the school.  Ms. Deborah Payumo, the Head Librarian of St. Augustine Library, likewise presented the facilities, norms, and practices of the library. “Don’t hesitate to ask for our assistance,” Ms Debbie, as she is commonly called, reminded the students.

The activities ended with the lunch at the Bulwagang Recoletos Atrium.
