Mira Nila Homes, QUEZON CITY – Our Lady of Consolation Parish celebrates its 34th Patronal Fiesta on the Solemnity of Our Mother of Consolation, also the Patroness of the Order on Sunday, September 5, 2021. The celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, Prior Provincial of St. Ezekiel Moreno province, together with Fr. Gideon Lagrimas, OAR, Parish Priest, Fr. Hector Gonzales, OAR, and some Recollect priests from different communities.

In the homily, Fr. Diony emphasized that the center of the entire celebration is not actually Mary but Jesus who is the consolation of all.  The presider alluded to the letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, saying that we must rejoice in the Lord Jesus Christ God of all consolation who comforts us so that we may be able to comfort those in sorrow.  This is the consolation that mother Mary shares in the consolation of Christ to comfort us. He encouraged the religious members of the Order, especially those of the Province, to have a filial love to the Blessed Mother, under the title of Our Lady of Consolation. Thus, he challenged the parishioners that in times of discomfort, there are three means that God comforts us: his presence, words, and deeds that flowed through the intercession of our Blessed Mother.

Before the final blessing, Fr. Gideon Lagrimas, OAR, delivered his message of gratitude to all the people who supported the success of the Parish Fiesta Mass. He expressed his thanks to the different organizations of the parish for the full support in spite of the virtual gatherings due to the current pandemic.

After the celebration, there was a simple lunch at the Bulwagan Atrium prepared for the few who attended the celebration in person.
