Recoletos School of Theology holds first face-to-face classes since the Outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic

Mira-Nila Homes, Quezon City, Philippines- August 15, 2022, on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Rev. Fr. Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR, Dean of Studies of Recoletos School of Theology, formally opened the new academic year 2022-2023.

Fr. Dean also presented the orientation regarding the institution’s rules and regulations along with its calendar of events. He introduced a new style of class, “Hy-flex”, which means a hybrid and flexible kind of classroom orientation where the professor can hold class via online but the students are just in the classroom following proper health and safety protocols. The professor can also decide whether he or she will hold class face-to-face or just via online.

A total of 54 students are enrolled in RST in this academic year including the MAT completers. The following are the Religious Congregations and Pious Unions whose students are enrolled in RST: Order of Augustinian Recollects (OAR), Order of St. Augustine Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu (OSA), Emmanuel Servant of the Holy Trinity (ESHT), Servants of Charity (SdC), PACEM Missionaries, Dominican Missionaries for the Deaf Apostolate, Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross (MMHC), Marian Society of the Holy Redeemer (MSHR), Franciscans Sons of Mercy, Clerical Congregation of the Korean Martyrs (BMC), Society of Catholic Apostolate, Order of St. Benedict Celestines (OSB- Cel.), and Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ). The school also has enrollees from some of the dioceses in the country namely the Diocese of Tandag and the Diocese of Urdaneta.

After the orientation, the school proceeded to its first community pictorial ever since the pandemic outbreak. The welcome event ended with everybody introducing themselves in order to be known by everyone in line with the election of the new set of RST officers for this academic year. In the afternoon, formal classes officially started. This marks the first face-to-face classes in RST ever since the pandemic crisis.
